Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR)
Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat conditions involving the aorta in the chest, such as aneurysms or dissections. During TEVAR, a stent graft is inserted through a small incision in the groin and guided to the site of the aortic problem using imaging. The stent graft is then deployed, reinforcing the aorta’s walls and redirecting blood flow. TEVAR offers reduced recovery time, fewer complications, and a less invasive alternative to traditional open surgery for aortic conditions.
