Picc Line Placement
Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) line placement is a medical procedure in which a long, thin tube is inserted into a peripheral vein, typically in the arm, and advanced through to a larger vein, usually in the chest. This allows for the delivery of medications, fluids, or other treatments directly into the central circulation. PICC lines are often used for extended intravenous therapy, such as chemotherapy, and provide a more comfortable and less invasive option compared to repeated needle insertions. Image guidance is commonly used to ensure accurate placement.
