CT Guided Biopsy
CT-guided biopsy, or computed tomography-guided biopsy, is a minimally invasive diagnostic procedure used to obtain tissue samples from suspicious or abnormal areas detected on CT imaging. During the procedure, a biopsy needle is precisely guided into the targeted tissue or mass using real-time CT imaging to ensure accurate placement. This allows for the collection of tissue samples for further analysis and diagnosis. CT-guided biopsies are commonly performed to investigate abnormalities in organs such as the lungs, liver, kidneys, and bones. The collected tissue samples are then examined by a pathologist to determine if they are benign or malignant, aiding in diagnosis and treatment planning.
