AVM Embolization
Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) embolization is a medical procedure used to treat AVMs, which are abnormal tangles of blood vessels in the brain or spinal cord. During the procedure, a catheter is advanced into the AVM site, and embolic materials, such as glue or microspheres, are injected to block abnormal blood flow, reducing the risk of rupture or hemorrhage. AVM embolization can be performed as a stand-alone treatment or as a prelude to surgical removal, reducing the overall size of the AVM and its associated risks.
